Backlit Cholla Cactus
They are called 'teddy-bear' cacti, mainly because the spines look soft and 'cuddly' when seen backlit like this. But make no mistake, like most plants in the Sonoran Desert, these chollas are more dangerous than the rattlesnakes and scorpions.
