Broken Reeds

The banks of the River Tay are renowned for their reed beds, which are still harvested for thatch. At Kingoodie, near Dundee, small areas of reed bed can be approached. After the winter storms, however, the reeds are broken off near the base of the stems - making a suitable subject for a more abstract image.
